FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg and Mike

In a joint interview for Bloomberg TV, FDA Commissioner FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg and Mike suggested that healthy biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries are important to prosperity, job creation and U.S. leadership in the life sciences. The interview took place on the 20th anniversary of Magic Johnson’s announcement that he was HIV positive, and Mike noted that medical advances have improved the life expectancy for people with HIV to 20 years, a dramatic improvement over the death sentence it originally carried.
