Mike sits with 5th-grade science teacher Stephanie Steckler, winner of a 2006 Milken Educator Award, in a space shuttle simulator at the William McCool Science Center at Frank Lamping Elementary School in Henderson, Nevada. Mike presented a Milken Educator Award to Steckler, who is the site director for the McCool Center, where she plans and organizes extended-day learning programs such as the Young Astronauts Club, overnight field trips and community stargazing events. She has also created innovation programs that include an Air-to-Space Museum, a Paleontology Area and a Tri-Desert Garden.
