Mike is about to surprise Amy Biasucci, a Cranford High School science teacher in New Jersey, and notify her that she's won a 2003 Milken Educator Award. Biasucci, who has incorporated digital photography, computers and the Internet into her curriculum, has led her students to conduct authentic scientific studies and analyses that have led to conclusions about the impact of human population on biodiversity. She is one of more than 2,500 outstanding educators since 1987 to be presented with a Milken Educator award, which includes an unrestricted $25,000 award and an invitation to the annual Milken Education Conference. |
