Sydney Brenner won the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his pioneering research in genetics and molecular biology. He discovered the existence of the messenger RNA and demonstrated how the order of amino acids is demonstrated. His most recent work has resulted in analyzing gene sequences, which has developed a new understanding of the evolution of vertebrates.
