The Milken Institute is a publicly supported, nonpartisan economic think tank whose aim is to improve lives worldwide by helping create a more democratic and efficient global economy.
The Institute's scholars use capital-market principles and financial innovations to address social and economic challenges, from energy independence to poverty, here in the United States and around the world. The Institute has pioneered studies in the areas of access to capital, health-care economics, global financial structures, financial innovations, human capital, regional economics and increased efficiency of medical research. It also sponsors a variety of events throughout the year, including the annual Global Conference, a prominent gathering of the world's capital-market leaders, focused on solving our most pressing economic and social challenges; and the annual State of the State Conference, which examines major issues facing the state of California.
